On the wooden archway in front, entering a 40-foot brick path toward
the back, there's a New Dawn rose, very hardy. On the east side of
the arbor/patio area at the end of the walk, there's an Evangeline rose
(a real rambler, need to cut it back every year) and a climbing
hydrangea. In various places, there are clematis (Hagley Hybrid, white
Henryi, a lavender-blue), a honeysuckle, and some wild ivy that
completely covers a long fence behind one of the borders. Last year I
had three plants of the dolichos lab-lab bean -- purply foliage and
lavender flowers. An annual but worth growing from seed (and easy).
What vines do you like? I need some for shade...
