Hi, gang...
I'm planning an understory (1 bur oak, 1 shallow-rooted maple) bed and would
like to use only green and white but with lots of texture. Ultimate height of
any plant, I think thus far, would be 3' to preserve the view beyond. The
bed's kidney shaped and about 30'x15'. East AM sun for about 3 hours and late
afternoon for the same but no sun reaches the middle of the bed. I don't want
to be a slave to the maniacal watering hose. The soil is clay with aged horse
manure on top, iced with hard wood mulch. Z.5a-4b.
Do any fave's come to mind of anyone? Thinking some 'Fire and Ice' Hosta
would be a nice accent...does anyone know of a source that has it for a good
price? Any shrub/perennial combos you've liked in these colors?
Thanks for any idea or leads.
