I agree that 'Buxton's Variety' seems more temperamental than most
other geraniums. It emerges very late so it's easy to think you've
lost it and then it often doesn't really get going.
I had always thought that dry conditions finish it off. I've read
that it likes a cool root-run but then I've also read that it
doesn't! Haven't weighed it up yet. As you say it will be interesting
to see how it does this winter in UK.
