That's not entirely accurate, Al. I do shop at Home Depot (occasionally)
and Walmart (a lot). It's mostly a matter of convenience: they are open
when I have the time to shop, and they offer a wide variety of merchandise.
Personally, I think any retailer thats only open until 5:00 pm Monday-
Friday deserves to go out of business!
I do generally buy most of my perennial plants from nurseries, because of
the quality and variety offered (sometimes, although our local Mom & Pop
nursery leaves a little to be desired).
But Home Depot and Walmart couldn't put the other folks out of business
without offering what the customers want, and it's not always price.
