Pan American Seed Company is connected with Balls and has developed many of
the products which Balls has distributed such as the Wave series of petunias.
I wonder if the companies involved see Heronswoods as a source of possible
new plant material which they can later market or use in breeding programs.
Many seed companies own a part or whole of companies which develop new plant
varieties. I think Park Seed Co. owns part of Goldsmith Inc in CA . Goldsmith
is an important breeder in geraniums, impatiens, and other bedding plants.
