What about Romneya coulteri (California tree poppy, Matilja poppy)...
Also, though not heavy in presence, there is a beautiful white
sanguisorba...white bottlebrushes.
I saw a photo of the most amazing white bottle brush flowering perennial in
a garden magazine, and neglected to add it to my list of must-haves...I hope
I run across the photo again.
