There is a Beverley Nichols even at the NW Flower and Garden Show next
week..."Tea & Beverley"; I have a ticket to the show Thursday at 6pm. Here
is the link...but it is sold out:>>>>>
Wow, you guys are up to date and way ahead of us'n here in the East. I,
too, would surely attend if I were not 3,000 miles away. What a good feature
of a garden show, very apt and sure to please. That is one of the most
imaginative features of a show that I have seen. I will forward your link to
Gerald Taffe of the Alpine group. I think you might hear from him. He is
the No. 1 Nichols fan in Canada.

I agree on May Sarton. Nasty! I have liked most of her writings.
I knew along that Nichols was the sort of person described. All of these
biographies today, are kiss and tell stuff and ruin your fun with favorite
authors. I loved all of Nichols' wild tales and he entertains, what more
could you want. The best story is the one about the Regale lilies. He grows
them from seed and when he has rows and rows in the garden, he throws a big
party with the house full of regals. The music is chosen to compliment the
lilies and the ladies take the great bunches home that have been decorating
the house. A wonderful July evening. And Gaskin, can you not want Gaskin
for yourself. I would kidnap Gaskin for the summer.
If I could get the mice and voles to stop eating my lilies, I would like such
a party.
<<<<<Thanks for the excellent list of his books...I have read all of these,
and a
number of his books on other subjects. >>>>>
If I missed any good ones, please add on. I chased down and purchased every
Nichols book. In the UK they are in every used book store but here they are
always on the used book sites.
