Interesting thoughts Gene. It makes me not so sad about making gardens in
every rental I've ever lived in. In my case, the garden I am making in my
current home (which we OWN- well with the bank of course), is by far the
best one I've created. The one plus about moving is that I never had to dig
up my prior work- just move to a new location and start fresh. Somehow it
is less painful digging up someone else's mistakes than one's own. I am
sure, however, that once I finish putting together all of my gardening ideas
here, I will end of renovating early works. I plan on living here a long
time!

Hi Sophie,
Not only does the gardener make the garden, the garden makes the
gardener. Sounds as though the two of you are made for each other. By the
time you are "finished" with your gardening projects you should be changed
enough to begin all over;-)
My garden is about 15 years old now and it is where I taught myself to
garden. I began renovating the oldest beds this past fall. I can now see
what I could not see when I began. My garden has taught me so much.. both
about plants and about the gardeners......
