Re: Hollyhocks and JBs


I occasionally find a JB inside a hollyhock flower--but the bumblebees get in 
there sometimes too, so I don't use my usual pinch-and-kill method with 
hollyhocks.

However, there is some nasty little green worm that gets on the hollyhock 
leaves, both top and bottom, and skeletonizes the leaves.  After several 
years of failure with hollyhocks, I discovered a huge worm of some kind in 
the litter at the base of the plant--once I got rid of this worm (I found 
several), the hollyhocks started to take off. But I'm still not sure what to 
do about the little green worm.
