I occasionally find a JB inside a hollyhock flower--but the bumblebees get in
there sometimes too, so I don't use my usual pinch-and-kill method with
hollyhocks.
However, there is some nasty little green worm that gets on the hollyhock
leaves, both top and bottom, and skeletonizes the leaves. After several
years of failure with hollyhocks, I discovered a huge worm of some kind in
the litter at the base of the plant--once I got rid of this worm (I found
several), the hollyhocks started to take off. But I'm still not sure what to
do about the little green worm.
