===>Sounds like typical contents for mushroom compost, Marilyn. There's some 
pretty "hot" stuff in there--all those manures and urea.  The heat 
sterilization probably helps a lot. I think my supplier used chemical 
sterilization--it always had a sort of petroleum smell.
