Clematis

One C. texanensis that I would recommend is 'princess Diana' with wonderful
dainty dark pink, orange peel type flowers, with silvering to its edge.
I love Sweet Peas growing them every year, starting seed in November under
glass then hardening them off feb/march outside, planting march/april, i grow
them as cordons up canes, snipping off tendrils and pinching out side shoots,
increases flower stems and blooms, they are gross feeders and need lots of
water, but are remarkably tough.
14 gallons of gasoline/petrol here would be #47, i think thats about $30!
