Re: clematis wilt / Asphodeline

Hello Bill,
I have had this plant in my garden for some years now. It has been
through -30 degrees in the past. It is located in relatively poor soil in an
open position on the west side of my garden. Takes full sun from about 2 pm
onward. I have not tried it in a more shaded position or protected one...
does not seem to need either. It is well drained, but not as in scree or
anything like that.
The section that blooms dies after setting seed and off-sets form. If
you do not get the off-sets, you loose the plant. Does not seem to be a
problem, however. Very persistent plant... but certainly not a spreader by
any means. Very well behaved.
