I have one that's a biennial, Dianthus caryophyllus 'Dwarf Fragrance'. Strong scent, very nice. Does someone need seeds for it? I'm not sure how many I have, I'd have to check.

Any one growing a really heavy scented hardy Dianthus? Not that I can recall though the literature frequently mentions scent and clove pinks is a term I have read. I am working my way through the long NARGS list of species Dianthus and have no recollection of any scented plants. I will now sniff them as they bloom and try to remember your question. For anyone trying Dianthus, it is any easy germinator. Does not do well in low pH soil, needs sharp drainage to live a few years.
I am on the look out for strong scents, at one time I had one that smelled like cloves.
