Mark:   Your deer ate barberry!!!!!  and the leaves from ragosa
roses!!!!!   Now I'm depressed....  I thought those were a few shrubs
that were absolutely deer resistant.  They have never touched mine, but
it's frustrating to know that they might.  

BTW, what zone are you in?
