The liriope plants that I grow, zone 6, are evergreen and thus I love them
for beside a walk. They also multiply and can be divided every year or so
so you can supply your own needs rapidly with purchasing just a few plants.
The candytuft here is also evergreen and the foliage stays nice if you
sheer it after blooming in the spring. I have some blooming in my basement
as I took cuttings this summer and rooted them. They are easy to root and
grow rapidly. You might want to fill in part of your area with a dwarf
spirea or some other small shrub to help fill in the space. JC :)
