<< Some one forgot to tell this to the squirrels around here!!.
every other year I pot up about two hundred one gallon nursery cans with
three
or four large Double nosed Daffodil bulbs and sell them in the spring.
Them pesky squirrels like to dig the bulbs out of the pots and chew on them
then they move to the next pot and do it again. Or they like to dig a hole
and fill the pots with acorns. any one want to buy a pot of fifty red oak
seedlings???? >>
Of course squirrels are great diggers and planters. They seem to like to add
their own anywhere they detect recently-disturbed soil, such as newly planted
beds or pots. So they were going to help replant your pots no matter what you
had planted in them. However, I have never heard of squirrels actually
munching on daffodil bulbs. Are they a specific type or cultivar?
Conventional wisdom is that the bulbs are extremely toxic but maybe you have
accidentally hit on some that aren't so toxic. I'd be very interested in
knowing what you're planting.
