RE: bulbs sprouting in winter

Hi Karen,

I think we all are experimenting strange things in the garden. The weirdest
winter in history here in Northern Spain. Hydrangeas flowering on their
leafless bare tops. Evergreen impatiens (!!!). Daffodils and tulips growing
fast; there is even an early daff clump in full flower!!!. Hemerocallis are
crazy and are starting flowering in distorted new growth right now too.
Peonies sprouting all over, as are the roses, geraniums, hostas...
everything SO EARLY!!!. We all are afraid of a sudden frost (as we are in
what should be the colder period in the year) could end with all... On the
other side some plants keep with their time schedule: hellebores are
starting to flower, as well as snowdrops, and the Mimosa trees are nearly
opened in their glorious scented yellow majesty... Is SPRING really here, or
is just an illusion???
