I can't imagine being unhappy with winter aconites spreading anywhere they
want to go. I have a good cluster of them which has seeded freely and many of
the seedlings are blooming for the first time this year. I have many places I
would happily move any that get in my way into. Here in the Cincinnati area
(Zone 6a) they are usually the first bloomers but I don't remember seeing them
in January before, and some early crocus are also blooming. What an odd year
we are all having. Past experience tells us we'll pay for this with a hard
freeze for an extended period later. I hope experience is wrong this year.
