Oh, so many choices.

I'm in Zone 9 in California, and we grow salvias of all kinds,
pelargoniums, penstemons, lychnis, monarda, camellias, hibiscus, roses,
delphiniums, lambs ears, agapanthus, lantanas, verbenas, bougainvillea,
nerium oleanders, bird of paradise, shasta daisies, asters, daylilies,
lilium asian and oriental, chrysanthemums, irises, hydrangeas, oenethera
(mexican evening primrose), ageratum behaves like a perennial, vinca major
and minor, felicia daisy, gypsophila, echinacea purpurea, gallardia, gerber
daisy, azaleas, aloes, yarrow, coreopsis, valerian, sedums, hostas,
veronica, perennial lavatera, buddleia. Bulbs like daffodils, tulips,
alliums, dutch iris.

These are some of the regulars I have in my yard ... some may count as
woody plants ... hope this gives you an idea.

Karen
