I think I qualify as cold weather folk . . . we have blizzard conditions
here in SE Wisconsin, expecting 10-15 inches of snow by the end of the

I cover everything with 6-12 inches of leaves - not just around the base,
but OVER everything. Remember, in our area, SNOW provides the best mulch
(and we're getting an amble supply this weekend). I've done this for years
and have never lost much. The only time I lose things is if we have an
early warming and then all that mulch overheats the plants. If I see a
warming trend, I will rake some off to allow for air circulation.

I got mine at my local hardware store - a True Value or Ace Hardware -
don't know what regional stores you have out there.
