clematis for a mailbox post -Reply

Almost all climatis is going to taller than 5', but two
questions first:

How much sun will it get?
Do you want it to bloom, early spring, early summer
or late summer?

Hi all-
Does anyone have a recommendation for a
clematis to grow up our mailbox
post? Its a wood 5x5 post/regular height. Do
clematis attract bees?

The bed around it includes a young 8' crabapple
tree, Sedum "Autumn
Joy", Deutzia "nikko", Salvia "May Night" and
coreopsis (was supposed to
be "moonbeam" but since I'm the only person on
the east coast who can
kill it in the blink of an eye, it "Early Sunrise")

My preference for the Clematis is one that can be
cut back for the
winter so it won't look so shabby.
Any Ideas?
TIA
