That was our problem last year here in KY. Our local weatherperson said
that there's nothing you can do to stop your bulbs from sprouting and you
can expect the foliage to look "burned" on the edges that are above ground
come spring. Since the warm weather has tricked the bulb into sprouting,
don't attempt to cut the leaves or cover them, because it is now relying on
photosynthesis. My bulbs grew like this last year. Later in the winter,
cold air finally moved in an the bulbs stopped growing until spring. The
tips of the foliage was brown, but at least I still had blooms.
Look at it this way: if they keep growing like mad, you may have early
blooms to enjoy. If they finally stop later on, all you'll have is
brown-tipped leaves. It's still a little too early to worry about them
setting buds to bloom. Spring flowering bulbs are hardy little things.
You'd be surprised at what they can endure.
