Hello Janis,
Birch borers? Naw.....we don't have any of them up here in N.B.
There are no aphids, no whiteflies, no mealybugs, no leafrollers,
and no nematodes. Also, there is no blister, no wilt; we have no clubroot,
no chlorosis and no thrips.
We have an average mean temp. of 74 degrees....for 10 months of the
year......and the last drought was in 1852.
Oh, yes....last fall our provincial legislature passed a law outlawing
spittlebugs and webworms....so local gardeners are really looking forward to
the upcoming growing season.
It's really quite a place we have here. One of Canada's best kept
secrets!
.........Neil.....in N.B. .... ...

have a question. Don't you get birch borers in N.B.? If we stapled
anything to a birch tree here we would be making entry holes for deadly
borers.
