Hello Marge,
The closest chapter of NARGS to me is in Cincinnati, Ohio... about 2 1/2 hours
drive. We try to make at lease one meeting a year. Even if there was not a single
plant, we would go for the people in the chapter. Some of the nicest people we
have ever met.
I am not a rock gardener, as such. Just enjoy plants, like you. However, about
two years ago my partner, JoAn, got interested in hypertuffa troughs. Now I have
the bug.I am working on a strip along the parking area here that is about 8 feet
wide and 35 feet long in an arch. It is to be all different kinds and sizes of
troughs in arrangements with garden sculpture, rocks. The beds they sit in will
also be planted in between the roughs for two levels of plants, some dwarf
conifers. have about 1/4 completed as of a month ago. May get a bit more done this
coming fall. Looks as though I will have a few alpines here after all;-)
