We, too, Marge.  We have plants at every meeting plus a big annual sale in 
September.  There are plants never seen elsewhere.  I have a group native 
azaleas from this sale, these are nearly impossible to find.    There is also 
a show and tell period where members bring in what they are especially proud 
of, always something you cannot buy or cannot grow easily.  As to the 
question of alpine only in this group, I have found you can get information 
(worldwide) on any strange plant so their value is increased by this small 
sufferance.
