My mom keeps her tags BEHIND the plant so she *can* look when she needs to, but it doesn't detract from the plant.
*Mostly* I can remember the names and mapping works for me, and plant lists, so I use those methods.

To hell with that mouse grave comment. I have been in the garden over thirty
years and have heard it all that time. Mark your plants anyway you please.
If someone has to come up with a diminishing remark, he has envy. Every
time someone starts a label thread it ends up with 100 messages and no
consensus so whatever you do that works for you is OK.
