Sudden Death

Perhaps ypu've experienced the same thing. I have about 8/9 cultivars of
Pulmonaria. I was away for a week and a large Pulmonaria cevenennsis just
went down. Now alongside is a Dicentra eximia Alba and a Brunnera, variegated
and they and all else are fine. Does this happen for no reason from time to
time? Should I pitch it or cut off the dead foliage and wait to see if it
shows up next year.
Appreciate any similar experiences you've had and/or sage advice. Thanks,
Walter Cullerton. Bucks County,Pa
