Catnip is Nepeta cataria...there are a number of subspecies...outta my area
of expertise. But definitely not just any Nepeta will give the same results
and Iowa State Univ. was
specific that it's catnip, not catmint, that repels Pat Mitchell's "state
bird" (love that!).
