Hi Len,
I do adore hosta and always bemoan my lack of shade when I see them (and want them). Perhaps you could provide the list with a few names of those, in various sizes and colors, that truly tolerate sun, how much sun and how much extra water (if any) they need to grow in that sun.
One of the oldest hostas I have (sorry, don't know the name, it was before I was smart enough to keep track!) barely gets any sun, but what it gets, always fries the leaves. Unattractive, definitely. I'd love to know about some who don't do that.

Hi Susan, Don't forget the most popular perennial of the season, Hostas.
The most recent edition had a great list of Hostas that tolerate full sun,
so they are not just for shade.
