I have been on a variegated kick this year. If it is multicolor-- it is in the car :( Tried a variegated moonflower. Not nearly as tall as the regular type, but spread nicely. It also has the hugest pure white flowers. Not sure if it so noticeable due to the green and beige leaves or what. So folks-- since it is not hardy here.... if I save the seed (provided there are any) will the plant be variegated again... or what?
While most variegated plants do not come true from seed, there are some that do and I have seen some variegated Ipomoeas that will come true. It's certainly worth a try.
