Now that you all mention it - I haven't seen many Japanese beetles this year
in the garden. Also not very many bumblebees. Which for the last 20 years
I always have them in the garden. Not many butterflies either. Actually,
most of my butterfly bushes didn't make it through the harsh winter.
Usually count at least 15 yellow swallowtails on my butterfly bushes at one
time. Haven't seen one yellow swallow tail this year?
Even wasps are not on my side porches and that's unusual.
The barn swallows aren't active in the perennial garden this year either.
They are usually swooping in and out - but not much activity. Hopefully, it
is just all this rain we had here in Pennsylvania this past Spring.
