There was one on the property when we moved in here 18 years ago. I never
do anything to it except trim out dead wood. It is quite large - there
are quite a few hostas growing under it. And I have added two more. I
like the vase shape it has and pruning it done to maintain that shape (so
I can get under it to weed). All, except the very youngest, reliably
bloom every year, putting on quite a show. The youngest has been in about
3 years now and it bloomed a bit this spring. I think once they are
mature, they bloom quite well and seem to require very little care except
occasional shaping.
