Hi Marilyn,
The flowers on Akebia quinata aren't particular exciting to look at
from afar, but they are a curiosity when viewed up close. They're
smallish (1/4" diameter) and a rosy-brownish-purple appearing in
mid-spring. The plants may require more light to produce blooms.
It's such a vigorous vine that if it weren't cut back, I would think
that it would invade an area pretty quickly. So I'm all for haircuts!
Chris
