I have a lot of the smaller ones that can be started from seed and they
don't have a lot of pedals. Those are the ones I had trouble with last
year. This year, in anticipation of better success, I got some of the
large fancy ones, some of which might have more pedals. I hope this helps.
I don't know the specific names.

Which form of dahlia? The more petals, the harder it will be to achieve
an open, perfect bud.
