Re: Fw: pansies and violas

The Missouri Botanical Garden had tulip beds underplanted with pansies this
spring that were absolutely stunning. There were various beds with different
combinations. It was difficult to decide which looked best -- yellow tulips
with yellow pansies, yellow tulips & purple tulips with bicolor yellow &
pruple pansies, rose and pink tulips with pink pansies, pink tulips with
blue pansies...

The pansies were planted very closely making a solid carpet under the more
sparcely planted tulips. Other beds had solid tulips in the center and were
edged with pansies. They were all beautiful.

While I'm sure the Botanical Garden didn't do this, one could plant the tulips
and pansies in the fall, enjoy the pansies then, and the next spring have them
both. Not bad. Think I'll try it. Only problem is deciding what colors!
