Re: Am I alone?-Not exactly! - ie, Shasta Daisys

Mine have been blooming like crazy for the last 2 weeks.  Have two
varieties, one about 18" tall and the tops a blanket of white, and the other
30-36" tall, half of it stem, and a much looser sprawling habit.

I was deadheading yesterday (tons left to do) and noticed that 2-3 of the
shorter plants had black, rotting looking stems and bases.  Don't know what
it is, but the clumps are very dense this year and there was about zero air
circulation in there.  Cut one back to the ground, and jerked the others.
That opened up some room for air anyway.  Any ideas?
