Just went out to check what whites I could suggest.
Campanula latifolia alba is the strongest one.
Hebe salicifolia (shrubby) takes more space, may not be hardy for
some, and gives a fluffier effect.
Galega alba (Goat's rue?) is a softer white
Achillea 'W.B. Childes' is excellent, but is about finished blooming
here now.
The dwarf white cosmos 'Sonata' is very satisfying for so long
you might make an exception and use annuals.

Should have checked for correct names in my previous post. Coreopsis
'Moonbeam" and Helianthus 'Lemon Queen' are what I should have said.
Didn't see the original post so just assumed you meant for full sun.
Roscoeas come in a lovely pale yellow too.
What purples and orange plants are you using?
Marian
> Coreopsis 'Moonlight' is softer yellow and blooms for a long time.
> Phygelius 'Moonraker' or Angel's Trumpet' (Watch for runners)
> Some of the newer daylilies are pale yellow
> Some forms of Oenothera are pale yellow fading orange
> Several yarrows are softer yellows
> Aconitum orientale (or others) are pale yellow
> Thalictrum flavum glaucum
> Helianthus 'Yellow Queen' - very robust, but a nice yellow (a little

> Potentilla sulfurea recta is very pale yellow but needs support
