How 'bout a white Monarda (Snow Queen) or a Campanula (Alba) bellflower??
These are both strong whites with a good height to seperate those
*pesky* colors. My other choice was Zantedeschia (calla-lily) for a
strong white, but the blooms have a greenish cast as they age and the
bulbs have to be lifted in northern zones(although mine have stayed in
the ground over three winters without a loss . . .not bad for Wisconsin!)

Perhaps a cinquefoil for a buttery yellow? I have two blooming now that
have a picotee of soft red around the edges of the petals and are simply
gorgeous. They look like strawberry plants when not blooming. They are
low to the ground, however, and might provide the kind of *presence* you
require.

Good luck.
