Margaret,
I can agree somewhat with that statement. Living in an area that is hazy,
hot, and humid affected my choices towards the soothing pastels. However,
now that I am a little wiser when it comes to gardening, I find that I am
choosing bolder, deeper colors as I feel more confident about combining
certain colors. The weather hasn't changed, but my outlook on gardening
has.
Perhaps this new sentiment has a bit to do with it, too. Certainly moving
to a new locale will make one feel adventuresome. You know... new
location, new start, "let me try something I haven't before."
I envy your blue skies. I suppose the skies are blue here in Louisville,
too, but it stays a perpetual white due to the haze in the valley. I feel
the need to brighten up things a bit!
