Re: Slugs and aesthetics


I don't happen to think that's a stupid comment at all.  After 
all, aesthetics are one of the primary reasons we garden, no?
This is precisely why I use pieces of curved bark laid on the 
soil/mulch; I travel from bark to bark, slipping the little 
darlin's from the safety of the bark underside into a jar of 
supersalinated water.  Effective and aesthetically pleasing.  
Not to sound too morbid, but ... there is a certain satisfaction 
from doing the deed as an active participant as opposed to a 
passive observer.  <g>  This year has been tougher than any I 
recall; probably due to the extra warm winter.  Man, do I have a 
lot of these guys.  About 5 different species, too.
