Listen.... this question isn't really about dogs or plants. It's about
two people with serious control problems in a marriage that OBVIOUSLY
isn't working.
These people need a different kind of guidance than this list can
provide. I would tell them that it's a dumb argument, and then would
back the heck OUT!

I have a friend who won't let his wife have house plants because he
doesn't want to compete for oxygen. This is a stupid bully tactic on
his part, I think, since he allows the dog to sleep in the bedroom.
