IMHO, close interaction with both plants and dogs is necessary to be truly
happy on this Earth. One important point: plants use CO2 (carbon dioxide) in
respiration, and give off O2 (oxygen). They are "clean air machines" and
actually improve the air you breath in enclosed spaces. Now my dog may not
improve the air I breathe in my house, particularly when he has just rolled in
some guano in the garden, but he otherwise improves my quality of life
tremendously!
