OK - so I broke down and bought The Book - The Well Tended Perennial Garden
that would be - per the recommendations of most of you! I love the book,
and I have been diligently out deadheading, trimming and shaping - here's
the question: I now have a pretty impressive pile of trimmings - mostly
achillea millifolium, monarda, polemonium, etc... all things that spread
rapidly on their own! Can I take this pile and put it directly into my
compost bin - or will their seeds all germinate and thrive, and pop up all
over when I go to use the compost? Thanks much!
