RE: perennials DIGEST V2 #528 Mist system & Propagation Bench

Tom,

There's nothing quite like the feel of seeing a plant with an outrageous
price at the nursery, and knowing you've started yours for free.
hahahah!

My mom brought me daylillies, cannas, four o'clocks that my dad started
YEARS ago,and lantana from Texas three weeks ago. Because of my work
schedule, and her visit, I've not had time to get them into the ground.
What I did was take empty one gallon pots that I'd saved, and lined them
with plastic grocery bags. I crumpled up newspaper and filled the pot
around each respective plant. I keep the paper moist, and now have a
canna leaf about 18" coming out of it, my lantanas are bright and perky
as ever & sprouting tons of new leaves, and the daylillies that she cut
back have 8" shoots coming up from them. What a hoot! Never thought
this would be possible.... <g>
