Hi Barb, sorry about the delay in responding to your question. The fence
is about 4 foot high. Deer will come up to it and smell it before they
jump it - when they put their nose against it - ZAP! Also, if they don't
smell it, they will just walk into it - ZAP. Some friends have put peanut
butter on foil strips attached to the fence - when the deer goes to taste
the peanut butter - ZAP. I have found that the deer quickly learn that
the fence is there and is not a good thing. They do not jump the fence -
they simply stay away. Has been working for me for 3 years now.
