One of the Rudbeckia cultivars from the sound of it. I have one in my
garden but it came in as a surprise visitor with another perennial, so I
can't tell you what variety mine is, let alone yours. You can find them in
seed catalogues sometimes. My grandmother grew them too, but she's no
longer with us.
