Are these asiatic beetles what we call in Ohio (and I thought everywhere)
Japanese beetles? I have noticed that most other gardens have quite a few of
them, but I rarely see more than one a day this year. I attribute this to
years of hunting them down. We routinely left jars of water in various spots
in the garden and then made a point of cruising through the garden at least
three times a day and drowning all we saw. After 9 years, almost no beetles.
Diligence is rewarded. (Of course as soon as I say this we'll discover that
the Japanese beetles in our yard are later than everyone else's and they'll
descend in hordes!)
