Re: ACONITUMS


I never knew how lucky I was to have my monkshood bloom!  I started some
from seed several years ago (don't remember what species).  They germinated
with no problem, and I don't remember if they started blooming the first
year or the second.  They grow almost 4 feet tall and are very stately and
eye-catching.  They're all in position where they get sun most of the day
and a few hours of shade.  They're crowded in with other plants and I don't
do anything special with the soil - well some leaf mulch in the fall.  I
tried to get seed from them last fall but couldn't find any.  It had what
looked like seed pods, but no seeds that I could see.  Anyone have any
experience with this?  Linda, Idaho, Zone 5
