Well Margaret, there are an awful lot of them. She decided to just cut
all the seed heads off into a paper bag.
Now earlier, I wrote "I am not going into this full throttle" because I
didn't see any of the critters on my Columbine - yesterday. Today, mine
were loaded! Hundreds of 'em!
So I looked a little closer. They are about the same size as ladybugs,
but not oval, they have a shield shaped back. Black with a narrow orange
stripe that runs from side to side at the shoulder and, it appeared, 2
orange dots at the back end.
