Have you tried using any of the various hose guides?
I have some of the short round ones strategically placed around my flowers
and a couple of the tall T type. I recently decided I should get an
insurance premium reduction b/c they would be a good deterrent to thieves in
the neighborhood. Coupled with the "Watch Dog Hoses," they should slow down
the thieves a good deal! ;-)
Now if we could only train our dogs to bite anyone who steps off the garden
paths or blatantly steels roses and cuttings.
